Champagne French Bakery Cafe Restaurant Review: This location of this French bakery chain, which began in San Marcos, sits in the fancy Promenade mall. The interior lives up to its surroundings with pretty framed mirrors and a chalkboard menu. Tables sit inside and out front on the sidewalk. The bakery cases where you order your food display sweets like flaky croissants, small madeleines, custardy brioche, and crispy palmier cookies. The chalkboard lists hot sandwiches stuffed with roast beef and Swiss cheese, or prosciutto and Brie, or the croque monsieur with ham, Swiss cheese and béchamel sauce. Salads, quiches, crêpes and soups complete the menu. |
