THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Christophe's Restaurant & Lounge Restaurant Review:

After closing his Le Bellissimo in neighboring Rancho Cucamonga, chef/restaurateur Christophe Jardillier opted for a location in historic downtown Upland, lured by the city to help rejuvenate the district. At his eponymous restaurant, however, a weak economy and conservative clientele have forced the accomplished chef to compromise his cuisine, peddling burgers and chicken wings, while offering karaoke in the bar. But Jardillier still cooks more sophisticated fare, like foie gras with port gelée, sea bass enhanced with black truffles and a terrific mustard-crusted rack of lamb. The wine list is very approachably priced, and a chocolate-drizzled crêpe or lavender crème brûlée makes for a nice French finish. Jardillier is one of the Inland Empire’s most talented chefs, and we’re therefore a bit disappointed that the cooking at Christophe’s seems less inspired than at his previous establishment.
