THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Coffee Table Restaurant Review:
The works of Silver Lake artists hang on the blue and yellow walls of Mike Zamarripa’s neighborhood comfort food emporium. The massive menu sustains locals for three meals a day. At breakfast, The Coffee Table produces a winning Greek omelet with spinach, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, feta and a topping of basil. For a more incendiary start to the day, order the Eggs from Hell---spicy scrambled eggs with cheese, black beans and salsa. Lunch features burgers, sandwiches and salads. At dinner, entrées include flank steak marinated in soy lime-garlic vinaigrette and pan-seared Cajun salmon with basmati rice and a “vegetable mélange.” No matter what you order, don’t neglect the scones, muffins and cookies. Coffee concoctions are also well prepared.
