| Colors earned a legion of headlines when it opened in late 2005 thanks to its owners---the waiters, chefs and busboys who run this cooperative restaurant near Astor Place---all former employees of Windows on the World, the top-of-the-World-Trade-Center restaurant that had a tragic ending. The global-themed eatery is set in a long narrow space. The menu, separated by five categories---Earth, Land, Sea, Heaven and Hell---whirls around the world. Dishes may include Mediterranean root vegetable stew, Southern fried Cornish game hen, tandoori lamb chops, spicy piri piri jumbo shrimp and Chilean ceviche. The crème Catalana will sweeten the end of your meal. |
