D’Cache Restaurant Review: D’Caché spices up the increasingly lively Toluca Lake dining/night scene with a diverse Latin-Fusion cuisine. You can create an entire meal from a selection of tapas that includes salmon tartare with mango salad, and sautéed mushrooms with manchego cheese toast. Larger plates involve the likes of pistachio pesto-crusted Australian lamb chops with coconut-lemon grass sauce; cilantro-crusted yellowfin tuna; and the Spanish classic, paella Valenciana. Tres leches cake and crema Catalana are representative of the Latin-themed dessert menu. The restaurant’s wine list concentrates on South America, Spain and California, with relatively reasonable prices. The bar laces Latin influences into an extensive cocktail list, ideal for lingering as the seductive sounds of flamenco waft through the night air. The restaurant, housed in a 1928 Spanish Mission-style cottage, combines Spanish rusticity with a hip, contemporary L.A. vibe. |
