THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Delmonico's Lobster House Restaurant Review:
The décor may be Beverly Hills beige (from the banquettes to the tablecloths, central pillars and bubbling fountain), but the menu is pure New England at this seafood establishment in the heart of Restaurant Row. All that is missing is the live tank full of pick your own lobsters---an East Coast affectation that certainly wouldnt be out of place in a restaurant that has built its reputation by offering 17 different preparations of Maine lobster. Beyond East Coast crustaceans, Delmonicos offers typical seafood fare, raw oysters and clams, seared salmon and an outstandingly tangy shrimp ceviche served with fresh avocado slices. Its simple preparations are whats best, but if you must stray from the basics, one of the restaurants best sellers is the Lobster Delmonico, a one- or two-pounder stuffed with shrimp and crab then broiled with a generous butter and bread crumb topping.
