THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Diwan Restaurant Review:

In the Middle East, Diwan means social room, and the décor duly follows through on this theme with thick velvet curtains in doorways, mustard-colored walls and wrought-iron chandeliers. A seductive, candle-illuminated lounge area lies between two dining rooms, and a covered sidewalk patio accommodates additional seating. Appetizers include garlicky escargots, insalata Caprese and a refreshing salad of ahi tuna tartare, radicchio and endive in a sesame-infused dressing. Among the entrées, we’ve had good luck with the veal chop in a cherry wine-mustard sauce and the steak with peppercorn sauce. Our quail, with a fine port wine reduction, was served atop a wonderful risotto, though the fowl itself fell short of the quality you’d expect a top kitchen would accept from a supplier.
