A sense of whimsy prevails at Phillip Foss’ (ex-Lockwood) brick-and-mortar restaurant, which opens just a few days a week with almost as few tables. The brick-walled space, done up with white tablecloths for meals, is at once low-key and artsy, tucked away and talked about. The BYO space serves elegant, funky meals in prix-fixe fashion, with courses ranging from squid ink cappellini with spanner crab, tomatoes and poppy seed to sweet Mirai corn, teamed with mango, avocado and hearts of palm.
