El Siete Mares Restaurant Review: At this open-air dive with plastic patio chair décor, every dish comes with a free side of Sunset Boulevard truck and auto exhaust. A more elaborate sit-down restaurant by the same name resides next door, but stick with the stand and you’ll be rewarded with heaping seafood burritos. The tortilla-wrapped behemoths are especially impressive when stuffed with fried shrimp, buttery rice, corn and peas. Fire-eaters can spoon on spicy red salsa. Skip the water-logged fish ceviche and order the shrimp version instead. Piled onto a crisp, Frisbee-size tostada, the cool, lime-marinated crustaceans deliver. There are also pretty good tacos: fried fish, shrimp or calamari, doused with salsa and shredded lettuce. Seafood cocktails round out the simple but effective menu. The menu scrawled above the window also advertises chicken and carne asada options, but stick with the sea.
