Is Continental cuisine making a comeback? Otherwise, why would anyone promote the prosaic in the city of hip? Perhaps because the owners of Europa have a passion for their concept and an arsenal of Old World family recipes. And maybe, just maybe, the city of Angels is due for a dose of Greek Flaming Saganaki. In any case, this elegant, chandelier- and dark beam-accented hacienda does quite a job with tableside spectacles as well as German specialties like Black Forrest venison and a creamy Kaesesahne torte. Flavors are bold, almost brash, and the culinary style is calorie-laden, but every dish is pure comfort on a plate.
