This architecturally delightful, romantic restaurant has been the scene of many marriage proposals, and it would be hard to spurn someone who had the elegance and the class to invite you to dine at The French Room. They don't miss a trick here in the food, wine or service. Whether you choose the three-course menu or the five-course Chef’s Tasting menu, you will have a topnotch dining experience. Look for deluxe tidbits like the seductive Hudson Valley foie gras served with french toast and a seasonal fruit compote; the first bite tells you the kitchen, now overseen by chef de cuisine Marcos Segovia, knows its stuff. Deft handling of seafood and the obligatory Black Angus beef keep diners coming back as often as the cash flow allows. Do leave room for dessert, such as the caramelized pumpkin bread pudding with white chocolate ginger ice cream. |
