THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fritzi Dog Restaurant Review

: Neal Fraser (BLD) set out to “revolutionize” the hot dog at this sunny stand at the Original Farmers Market. Known for his innovative contemporary American cuisine, Fraser puts a new “haute” in dogs locally made from humanely raised livestock. No mystery in the meat here --- nor any nitrates or antibiotics in six savory varieties that include our two favorites: the “bird dog,” made with turkey, duck and mesquite, and the “Cali dog,” combining beef, pork and spicy merguez with Chilean merken. Purists will relish classic ballpark and Kosher-style beef dogs, and vegetarians can dig a surprisingly tasty “carrot dog” slow cooked in 26 Arabic spices. There’s also a hand-dipped corn dog. Toppings range from sriracha ketchup to jalapeño relish, warm sauerkraut, bacon and beef chili, while fresh-baked buns (including Udi’s gluten-free) add another gourmet level to the classic dish. Don’t forget the addictive tater tots or fries.
