 A gelateria with a "piazza" feel, this brightly colored shop serves Italian ice cream. Beyond the archway entrance you'll find the Milanese gelato case displaying 24 daily selections of gelato and sorbetto, custom-made by Allesandro Fontana, an expert gelato maker from Venice. Italian classics like nocciola, straciatella and pistachio are offered as well as more adventurous options including spicy chocolate made with habanero, English toffee, cinnamon-basil and pomegranate. Popular flavors include ricotta with berries, panna cotta and the traditionally American rocky road and vanilla; the yogurt flavor is one of our favorites. Also featured daily are sugar-free gelato and fat-free sorbetto. The shop's coffee bar offers freshly baked goods and an expansive list of beverages, gourmet teas, Italian sodas, espresso and locally roasted coffee. Unlike most ice cream shops where you'll pick up your sweet treat and head out, Gelato Bar invites customers to enjoy their dessert on site, sitting on comfy cushions at private or community tables situated around an indoor fountain.
