| We're charmed by this modest Larchmont Village trattoria that refuses to adopt a predictable formula-driven menu. There's no liquor license, but you won't be charged a corkage fee for wine purchased at neighboring Larchmont Wine & Cheese Shop. Intimate and inviting, Girasole is owned by the Tolot family from Vittorio Veneto, and there is a sense of pride in the service and on the plate. Friendly servers deliver non-dairy puréed soups, pumpkin ravioli with butter-and-sage sauce, farfalle with smoked salmon, turkey Marsala, simply grilled salmon, spinach gnocchi and a masterful chocolate tart. The quality and value will bring you back for more, to the chagrin of neighborhood patrons who want to keep Girasole (which means “sunflower” in Italian) their own little secret. It’s also a great place to pick up something to go. |
