Stephanie Izard --- Season 4 Top Chef winner --- partnered with Boka Restaurant Group’s Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm (Boka, Landmark Bar & Grill, Perennial) to open this fashionably unassuming West Loop eatery. Rustic details --- including burlap walls --- meet a frequently changing, sharable menu that’s categorized by meat, fish and vegetable dishes; most all reveal unexpected twists and turns. Start with the warm marinated olives or the chickpeas fritters with eggplant-tomatillo caponata and mozzarella. Its namesake, too, appears in ways you may not expect. For example, the steamed mussels with goat sausage croutons and cilantro. Desserts are every bit as off-kilter-tasty, so grab a seat next to the kitchen line to watch the frenetic action, and prepare to be wowed by something like the parsnip pot de crème. House-blended wine and craft beers make up the bar menu.
