 A small door in an alley on Dayton Way leads you into this popular power lunch and neighborhood dinner spot, opened in 1984. Decorated in the classic bistro style with a black-and-white tiled floor, mahogany chairs and partitions, The Grill on the Alley maintains its tradition of serving American cuisine with steaks, chops and seafood. Start with a shrimp cocktail, a crab cake or chilled gazpacho which can be followed by the Grill Cobb salad or Caesar salad. There is a long list of potatoes and onions to accompany your filet mignon, New York steak, veal chop or poached salmon, pan-fried Dover sole or baked whitefish. Four different chicken preparations and pastas are also options. Desserts are generously portioned (New York cheesecake, fudge brownie pie, Key lime pie). Enjoy the snappy service from a professional staff who will also guide you through the cocktail and wine lists.
