Tucked into a storefront in the heart of Old Pasadena is this petite eatery featuring the cuisine of the Himalayas. Tibetan, Nepalese and Indian influences converge here for an enjoyable culinary adventure. Deep-fried pakaudas stuffed with meat, shrimp or vegetables are similar to Indian pakoras, and mo-mo, a signature Himalayan dish, is similar to Chinese dim sum dumplings. Here they are steamed and stuffed with vegetables or chicken, served with a dipping sauce redolent of cumin. A tandoor oven turns out many dishes familiar to Indian restaurants, and vegetarians have much to choose from. At lunch, a value-oriented buffet satisfies the local shoppers and moviegoers.
