Il Forno Restaurant Review: This friendly neighborhood trattoria packs them in because it offers good regional Italian cooking at reasonable prices. The menu features refreshingly light items like capriccio imperiale, a cold seafood salad with baby lobster, shrimp, calamari and green beans in lemon-olive oil dressing; and melanzane alla caprina, rolled eggplant stuffed with goat cheese and herbs in tomato sauce. Pastas include tortellini filled with chicken in a creamy pink sauce, and linguine with baby lobster and shiitake mushrooms in a bell pepper sauce. Pizzas are offered, too, and main courses consist of filet mignon in a balsamic-port wine reduction and veal Marsala. Finish with cheesecake or refreshing tartufos. The wine, while showcasing Italy, is global in scope. Il Forno's design reflects the marriage of a traditional trattoria with the light and airy vibe of a beach town.
