THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Jimmy's Italian Steakhouse Restaurant Review: Jimmys Italian Steakhouse is one of many Jimmys restaurants sprinkled like shards of Parm around Rhode Island. Its a boisterous place where families and other large, ravenous groups come to have the steakhouse experience at neighborhood trattoria prices. Talk about filling a void. Jimmys feels absurdly abundant---as steakhouses should. Imola bruschetta is loaded with cream, prosciutto, peas and roasted peppers. Calamari comes three ways---with pepper rings and marinara, with tomato sauce, or with spinach in a spicy garlic and wine-butter sauce. Lamb steak is redolent of rosemary, if a bit sweet thanks to red wine marination. Nothing---even the 20 oz. rib eye---tops $20. Still, dont expect the same flavor as one would get from the house-aged steaks at Mortons, or crystal-glass elegance. But thats not the point, is it?
