| This delightful little café, with its marble tables spilling out onto the sidewalk, is sometimes dismissed as simply a place for well-heeled San Marino ladies who lunch. However, Julienne effectively rebuts that narrow reputation. The cooking is Provençal-style and seasonal, and you can enjoy a lovely lunch of chicken-tarragon salad with house-baked rosemary bread, Parmesan-crusted swordfish in lemon-caper sauce, or a simple, classic croque monsieur. Breakfasts (consider omelets, house-made granola or bread pudding french toast with fresh peach sauce) are topnotch, and there's a charming gourmet shop adjoining the café. The restaurant---the polished interior is fashioned after an upscale Provençal bistro---is regularly rented out for parties in the evening hours. |
