King's Road Cafe Restaurant Review

: King's Road Café has good breakfasts --- whole-wheat pancakes studded with blueberries or chili-poached eggs with Romano cheese --- which are served all day. Otherwise, the menu revolves around interesting salads, panini and pastas. A grilled shrimp and scallop salad features creamy avocado vinaigrette and shiitake mushrooms. The top sirloin panini hosts garlic aïoli and caramelized onions, and pastas include penne with rosemary chicken in a pink sauce. Among the Mexican selections are grilled shrimp tacos or Yucatan-style chicken breast with mashed sweet potatoes and jícama relish. To drink, there are textbook cappuccinos and homemade chai, plus fresh-squeezed juices. Finish your meal with a slice of apple crumble pie or a peanut butter cookie. If you can't bear to leave Fido at home, the outside tables inevitably have a few leashes tied to the legs. Sidewalk seating is always crowded, especially on weekends. Also located at 12401 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, 818-985-3600.
