L&E Oyster Bar Restaurant Review

: East Coast-style oyster bars are beginning to pop up in L.A., and this one features as many flavors of Louisiana as it does Cape Cod. The selection of oysters on the half-shell --- from both the East and West Coasts --- changes daily (posted on the wall), and a global wine list allows you to wash them down with a reasonably priced Sauvignon Blanc or Albariño, either by the glass or bottle (or a craft beer, if you prefer). Oysters are also prepared Rockefeller- and casino-style, two retro favorites, blackened catfish is offered, and the house-made spätzle is laced with cheese and lobster for an indulgent riff on mac ‘n’ cheese. For dessert, you’ll find bourbon-pecan pie and a light lemon tart. The environment is pleasant and casually chic, but suitably unfussy. And like some of the best oyster bars, there are no reservations taken, so you have to fight for a table or seat at the coveted marble bar.
