| This always-crowded little eatery, with its signature yellow-and-black awning, certainly doesn't serve the city's best French food, but it's sentimentally reminiscent of a simple neighborhood café in Paris. And that's just the way La Frite should be experienced. Rather than risking disappointment by looking for a sophisticated meal here, stop in for a pâté, crêpes, quiche or bowl of French onion soup. Worthy entrées from the extensive menu include poached salmon in Champagne sauce and chicken Cordon Bleu. Take it for what it is---a neighborhood joint that pretends to be no more---and you'll enjoy the reasonably priced fare served by a friendly staff.
