Great Wine List* Click here for rating key
After several years of devoted attention to this culinary jewel box, Mary Beth and Roland Liccioni achieved a bit of old-world France in this lovely brownstone. But Roland departed in late 2004, leaving Les Nomades to write a new chapter in its culinary history. Fortunately, chef Chris Nugent (TRU, Grace, Zealous and mk, among others) was up to the task. His dishes are eclectic and well balanced, and they draw heavily from local produce. Go for cauliflower soup with salsify and white truffle froth or roasted sweetbreads with Spanish chorizo and smoked paprika. Follow with herb-roasted Scottish salmon with cabbage, potato and citrus emulsion. The rooms are so cool, so intimate and sedate, that they’re worthy of nothing but the best. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic hideaway, this is the place. Service is discreet and polished (though sometimes with attitude in tow). The wine list is exceptional---heavy on French Bordeaux, Burgundy and bubbly. |
