For a bit of old-world (meets new) France, there are few better places to go than this lovely brownstone. Chef Chris Nugent (TRU, Grace, Zealous and mk, among others) has brought the stalwart into the present and continues to evolve the menu with great success. His dishes are eclectic and well-balanced, and they draw heavily from local produce. Go for roasted quail with spiced beluga lentils, apples and Chantenay carrots. Follow with duck consommé buoyed with duck confit ravioli. The rooms are so cool, so intimate and sedate, that they’re worthy of nothing but the best. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic hideaway, this is the place. Service is discreet and polished (though sometimes with attitude in tow). The wine list is exceptional---heavy on French Bordeaux, Burgundy and bubbly.
