The Little Izaka-Ya By Katsu-ya Restaurant Review:
The Little Izaka-Ya By Katsu-ya is a spin-off of chef Katsuya Uechi's Japanese pub-style restaurants in West Hollywood and Manhattan Beach. The menu features Katsu-ya signatures like crispy rice with sesame tuna, as well as a wide variety of sushi rolls, dumplings, and ramen or udon noodles, all at exceptionally attractive prices, particularly when you consider this izakaya is a product of one of the top Japanese chefs in L.A. Additional options include popcorn shrimp tossed in a creamy sauce, yellowtail collar, short ribs served on a cedar board with jalapeño-spiked miso sauce, halibut carpaccio, and tuna sashimi paired with golden beets. Wash it down with saké or a saké cocktail, then finish an evening at this agreeable Japanese pub with tempura ice cream. The lunch bento box offers a good value, as does the weekend afternoon happy hour.
