 Locanda Veneta Restaurant Review: Close your eyes and let Locanda Veneta transport you to the cobbled streets and canals of Venice. From the kitchen, you can smell the olive oil being poured over the carpaccio and hear the sizzle of roasting lamb. We recommend any of the pastas, from spaghetti in an egg, pancetta and Parmesan cheese sauce, to risotto slowly simmered with porcini mushrooms. Also notable on the menu: filet tenderloin with three peppercorn sauce, roast pork loin stuffed with fennel and Italian sausage, and a generously portioned rack of lamb marinated in fresh herbs and served with an Amarone red wine sauce. Dessert options are plentiful, with the likes of crêpes filled with Nutella, almond-ricotta cheesecake and traditional tiramisu. The wine list is mainly composed of many hard-to-find Italian and California labels, with a nice selection of organic wines from both origins. |
