| A spin-off of the Farmers Market location, Lotería Grill in Hollywood is serving up the same authentic Mexican fast food made famous by its predecessor, but in a more formal setting. Poster-sized loteria cards decorate the red and white walls, with a bar on one end and a long counter. Chef and owner Jimmy Shaw's menu stays true to the original (breakfast is still served all day) with a few exceptions including a jícama enchilada salad and a summer salad of fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, avocado and goat cheese with a cilantro and lime vinaigrette topped with spicy pepitas. Tacos are served on fresh handmade corn tortillas or on lettuce cups for carbohydrate counters, and many choices will appeal to vegetarians. Diners can watch as their food is prepared in the open kitchen, just like at the original location, but here they can wash down their mole, tostada, burrito or ensalada with offerings from a full bar, including a large tequila selection. |
