THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Loving Hut Restaurant Review

: All those Peking ducks gleaming in Chinatown's windows can alienate vegans and vegetarians. Committed to serving 100-percent vegan and mostly organic versions of everyone's favorite Asian dishes, squeaky-clean and assertively serene Loving Hut makes them feel, well, loved. Its extensive menu invokes China (won ton soup, chow fun), Thailand (tom yum, pad thai), Vietnam (spring rolls, pho), Japan (miso soup, teriyaki) and the West, with vegan versions of fish 'n' chips and tuna sandwiches. Must-try items include chewy-sweet orange-sesame bites, fragrant lemon grass-sauced soy protein, rich tomato-seaweed bean-curd "filet" and tangy sautéed kale with goji berries. If all this purity makes you feel less guilty about ordering dessert, dip into some coconut cake or Chinatown's best vegan banana split. Part of an international chain, Loving Hut also has locations in North Beach and downtown's Westfield San Francisco Centre.
