THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED M & M Soul Food Restaurant Review:
Drawing on its South L.A. roots and reputation, M & M successfully invaded Pasadena and quickly won over hordes of hungry loyalists. If youre a homesick Mississippian longing for some old-fashioned country-style cooking, M & M can save you the airfare back home. Sage and purple leatherette booths, Formica tables and but a few framed art prints are all the decoration this large, airy eatery needs, since the food is what keeps folks coming. The crisp, tender fried chicken has a pleasant peppery character, and the cornmeal-breaded catfish falls right off the bone. Pan-fried T-bone steaks or pork chops make hearty meals, especially when teamed with sides of collard greens, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese or garlicky black-eyed peas. So authentic is this Southern fare that you half expect to see magnolia blossoms and cotton fields lining Washington Boulevard when you walk out. Other locations.
