THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Madison Restaurant Review:
This lavish restaurant is located in the lobby of a beautifully restored historic bank building, with Corinthian columns that make for a grand entrance. The interior---so stunning it places unfair expectations on the kitchen---features a high ceiling, vintage chandeliers and an antique bar, plus that classic steakhouse combination mahogany and white linen. Starters include shrimp cocktail, tuna poke, and a salad of greens, mango and strawberries topped with lobster meat tossed in a citrus-yogurt dressing. A carnivore-centric menu offers a rib-eye with bordelaise, rack of lamb, and a signature beef Wellington that deserves consideration. And while steaks arriving on sizzling platters may be the focus of attention, the entrée selection offers diversity in dishes such as Maine peekytoe crab cakes with chipotle aïoli, port-glazed duck finished with a Grand Marnier reduction, and a daily salmon preparation. Finish with crème brûlée or a grand piano artfully crafted from chocolate. A solid wine list is deep in full-bodied reds to complement the steakhouse-oriented cuisine.
