Since 1975, a well-heeled clientele has made this lovely restaurant a Beverly Hills institution. Begin with the marvelous dish of glazed walnuts served on a bed of fried spinach leaves. The chicken salad with red ginger, the dumplings and the scallion pancakes are excellent, and the Peking duck remains a superior interpretation of the classic dish (call ahead to order it). At lunchtime, the banquet room becomes The Rice Noodle Shop featuring lower-priced noodle dishes and other simple Chinese comfort foods.
