Okay, the service can be eccentric, the décor tacky and the food uneven. Still we like this joint---it’s fun and unpretentious, and you’ll find plenty of good things to eat: tasty fried chicken, wonderfully messy short ribs, delectable yams, honest liver and onions, and such comfort desserts as coconut cake and fruit cobbler.
