THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Melrose Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:

Melrose Bar & Grill is a family affair, led by husband and wife Christopher and Julie Bennett, along with Julie's brother and sister Robert and Paula Evans. After running the two Doug Arango's restaurants for eighteen years, the first one in Palm Desert and the second in this Melrose location, they have decided to change the latter to a more casual and friendly experience. Instead of fixed hours for lunch and dinner, they are open for service all day long, so patrons can meet and eat during atypical meal hours. The partly redecorated restaurant (fireplace, wine cellar, lighting, booths, new furniture, flat screen TV) is all wi-fi so you can spend time with your computer while dining. The menu is simple and attractive, featuring items made with top quality ingredients. Choose the specials listed on the huge blackboard, or on the small menu brought to your table. Start with the prosciutto and caramelized pear salad, the spicy tuna tartare, the slow-roasted pork bruschetta with mango chutney, or the Caesar salad. A few thin crust pizzas can be shared by the table, as well as a fresh baked pita accompanied by bean dip. Carnivores will enjoy the flank steak salad, the Porterhouse veal or the crispy roasted chicken breast, but we are not fans of the duck burger. Fish is served only as a special, and the desserts still need a little work to be as fun as the beginning of the meal. Robert is in charge of the wines and has composed a cellar that by itself is a good excuse to go to the restaurant. Where else can you find fine wine and wi-fi?
