Azul Restaurant & Lounge Restaurant Review:

Azul Restaurant & Lounge is tucked into the lower lobby at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa. It acts as the resort’s main dining venue and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. And while you’ll find better views of the Santa Catalina Mountains during daytime, our recommendation is to go for dinner, when you’ll find a regular menu and a prix-fixe option that changes with the season. Influences of Mexico, albeit with modern flair, are apparent from soup to dessert. As a starter, tacos are filled with tender pork belly, jícama and a tropical fruit salsa. The stuffed poblano pepper entrée has quinoa, manchego cheese and vegetables. North of the border items do not disappoint. Pan-seared scallops come with lump crab meat risotto, a doubly good seafood choice. New York steak will please red meat lovers. Sides are limited. For dessert, Shades of Chocolate presents chocolate mousse and devil’s food cake with dulce glaze and vanilla ice cream. The wine list is interesting but cocktails are sleek and fashionable and may be the way to go.
