Cafe Centro Restaurant Review:
This Americanized French brasserie in the MetLife Building gets high marks for looks --- brass railings, Art Deco details --- and solid marks for its food, too. There's a wood-burning rotisserie in the dining room and the stainless-steel kitchen is visible beyond a glass wall. Although the menu concentrates mostly on French dishes like onion soup with Gruyère and rib-eye au poivre, there are a few Moroccan additions, starting with Moroccan lamb tagine. We also like the mussels Dijonaise and the many choices from the raw bar. At lunch and during happy hour, the power-suit crowd jams the adjoining noisy Beer Bar, which has its own menu and extended hours.
