THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Cafe Jardin Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Those in the know head over to Café Jardin, which is located inside the lush Sherman Library & Gardens, to experience OC's legendary chef Pascal Olhats. The serene venue, set among fanciful gardens, is a welcome treat. This is currently Olhats' lone culinary outpost, and while the space is only open for weekday lunch, Sunday brunch and Sunday dinner, he's making the most of the limited hours, expanding on its traditional light and luncheon-y fare with elegantly composed dishes befitting of his previous restaurants.

Food & Drinks: Olhats also indulges his passion for culinary instruction; chef de cuisine Jessica Roy is an Olhats protégée that extends his culinary philosophy while adding several thoughtful touches that seamlessly connect food with setting. Light, bright favorites such as the beet salad with herbed goat cheese and trout almondine are available for the venue's loyal throng of ladies who lunch to enjoy. Those that want to experience the full breadth of Olhats' and Roy's skill will opt for the more complex, seasonal creations, from starters such as poached oysters with leek, salmon roe and crème fraîche to main course duos like the braised short rib and pork belly bourguignon or the must-try salmon and octopus with rouille and romesco sauce. End your meal with a tray of indulgent hand-made chocolates. On Sunday evenings, Olhats takes center stage by creating a multi-course, Provençal-style menu featuring items such as a trio of tartares and Dijon-dusted rack of lamb with ratatouille and haricots verts. Café Jardin offers a compact selection of wines, primarily from well-known French appellations.
