THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Caffe Roma Restaurant Review:

You’re likely to hear Italian being spoken by the guests sipping espresso on the patio, day or night. Tucked away in Le Grand Passage, Caffè Roma has long been a favorite with Italian expatriates longing for a café that feels as if it’s on the Via Veneto. The al fresco seating is lovely, and the dining room, with its Murano chandeliers and modern art, suggests a contemporary sense of sophistication. Veteran chef/restaurateur Agostino Sciandri (Ago, Sor Tino, Toscanova, The Juicy Bird) took over the property, and the cuisine again became as important as the scene. Guests might start with a baby artichoke frisée, panzanella salad, simply grilled octopus or beef carpaccio. Thin-crusted pizzas are popular, and a wide range of pasta, gnocchi and risotto dishes is reliable. Entrées include branzino and baby rack of lamb with mustard crust. Diners finish with tiramisu, a chocolate soufflé or a rustic wood-fired apple tart. All major Italian regions are represented on the worthy wine list, including some prestigious Barolos and Super Tuscans. By the way, this is one of the few places in Beverly Hills that serves until 2 a.m. The outdoor happy hour is also popular for its good deals on Italian bar bites and drinks.
