Carmine's Restaurant Review:

Carmine’s is a crowd-pleaser, serving lots of pasta with heavy sauces at very low prices in an environment designed by Central Casting when the scene calls for “Italian restaurant.” The food is presented on sharing platters for four or more, prepared by a kitchen on auto-pilot. The menu is extensive and predictable --- think spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Parmigiana, lasagna. There are also a few dishes not seen on every Southern Italian menu in the Western Hemisphere, such as chicken scarpariello wings or the four pasta platter. For dessert, get the chocolate cannolis, of course. This outpost (there are Carmine’s in New York City, the Bahamas, Las Vegas and Washington, D.C.) is reminiscent of the others with pictures of Italian heroes --- Sinatra, Marciano, et al --- on the walls and dark paneling throughout.
