Chuko Restaurant Review:
Brought to you by a chef who logged time at Morimoto, this Prospect Heights ramen place is one of the best things (culinarily speaking) to hit the up-and-coming neighborhood. The minimal space forces diners to focus on what’s in front of them. Namely, the food. Specials, scrawled across a large chalkboard behind the bar, are good but small: a banh mi slider, for example, or a duck sandwich. The ramen, however, gets top billing. Soups are flavored with pork, miso or soy broths and come crammed with topnotch ingredients: a poached egg (meant to be broken and stirred); freshly made noodles; and tender, lean pork. Perfect for a cold Brooklyn evening. If you’re inclined, partaking of the macaron ice cream sandwich is not the worst way to end a very good meal.
