Johnnie's Pastrami Restaurant Review:

It's not just the 1952 Googie design (including original jukeboxes) that makes Johnnie's an L.A. classic. It's also those mid-century treats that we aren't supposed to eat anymore but love anyway. Not to mention the salty waitresses who will take your order at two in the morning. The namesake pastrami (which can't be ordered lean) is best experienced on a French dipped roll. You can also go for standards like well-seasoned chili and beans, fish ‘n’ chips, burgers or a steak sandwich with coleslaw. Snack on generous servings of kosher pickles, and indulge in a root beer float or beer by the pitcher. For dessert: cherry pie, ordered à la mode, of course. Outdoor seating features a fire pit on one side of the restaurant.
