Locali Restaurant Review:

Locali, with its tagline “Conscious Convenience,” offers localistas a green, "sustainable" version of 7-11, stocking healthful-gourmet prepared foods and groceries of the local, organic, vegan and fair trade variety. No high-fructose corn syrup here, but you’ll find organic microbrews, biodynamic wines and wild organic teas, along with food products from La Guera Tamalera, Carmela ice cream, the Coffee Cellar, and M Café de Chaya. A nice selection of sandwiches and salads is available, too, especially the notorious "The Baaadasss Breakfast Sandwich” (a hearty English muffin with sprouted grain layered with maple syrup, a vegan sausage patty, vegan cheddar and chipotle sauce). Seating is scarce, but you can sit at a counter or an outdoor bench checking out the eclectic activity along Franklin Avenue while enjoying your sustainable version of a Reuben, made up of paper-thin slices of beet-marinated tofu, vegan cheese, sauerkraut and vegan Russian dressing.
