P.F. Chang's China Bistro Restaurant Review:
This burgeoning chain offers the quintessentially corporate, suburban interpretation of Chinese cooking, designed for those who are unlikely to explore Mom-and-Pop establishments in Chinatown or Monterey Park. The food may lack complete authenticity but is tasty nonetheless, and a decent wine list is offered as well. Starters include the kitchen's signature spiced chicken in lettuce wraps, salt and pepper calamari and pan-fried dumplings. Crispy honey shrimp, orange-peel chicken and catfish in black bean sauce are among the more predictable entrées, while oolong-marinated Chilean sea bass represents a more contemporary approach. Although a bit less dramatic than some of the chain's other locations, the décor is striking: modern chandeliers hang from a high ceiling, a traditional panoramic mural is on display over the bar and impressive stone sculptures also make up the atmosphere. Like most P.F. Chang's, there's often a long wait for a table.
