This San Gabriel beer bar and bottle shop from Marlene Samaniego and her late husband, Sam, is renowned for craft beer and serves complementary comfort food. The couple founded The Stuffed Sandwich in 1976, and the business has lived in its current location since 2003. Expect a patio framed by a white metal fence, and an interior with communal seating and refrigerators practically bursting with beer. The Stuffed Sandwich sells more than 700 bottles, sourcing from 40-plus countries, including an emphasis on Belgian ales. Draft beer rotates monthly, but could center on pale ales, pilsners or barleywines. Sandwiches are Italian in style, with fillings like mortadella, meatballs, capocollo or salami. A few salads are also on offer, in addition to spaghetti with meatballs or Italian sausage, cheese and red sauce. Clam chowder, chili or baked bean soup are available daily, as are baked fries.
