Vim Restaurant Review:
A spin-off of the original Vim, a Thai-Chinese eatery on Vermont Avenue, this tiny strip-mall tenant is noted for its seafood specialties, served in a no-frills setting (red vinyl booths, Formica tables) in the heart of Thai Town. Start with the popular seafood soup, spicy on the palate but balanced with sweet coconut milk. A classic duck salad, fish cakes, and chicken satays are also available. For larger plates, focus on the spicy beef in a dense yellow curry with potatoes, as well as a satisfying pad thai.
