Mi Piace Restaurant Review: One of the earliest arrivals to Old Pasadena some 20 years ago, this restaurant in Old Town remains one of the most popular. The white-on-white dining room has contemporary good looks, but much of the menu is planted comfortably in the past, with dishes like fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti carbonara and veal Marsala providing cover for conservative diners. Most of the pastas, salads and Italian entrées are well prepared, but frequently uninspired. Crisp-crusted New York-style pizzas are topped with the likes of pepperoni and mushrooms, and an extensive repertoire of desserts is first-rate. For people-watchers, tables spill out onto the busy Colorado Boulevard sidewalk. Also located at 801 N. San Fernando Blvd., Burbank, 818-843-1111; and at The Commons, 4799 Commons Wy., Calabasas, 818-591-8822.
