Milo's City Cafe Restaurant Review: Long owned by a Northeast Portland family, Milo’s has been an Irvington favorite for decades. The menu ranges across styles and continents, but breakfast, served until 2:30 p.m., is probably closest to the cafe's heart. Choose from a wide array of standards, including six versions of eggs Benedict, a half dozen omelets, four choices of hash, fluffy waffles and more. Lunch and dinner offerings range from Cobb salad to crab cakes, to pork chops and corn fritters, to sandwiches hot and cold. Daily specials include eclectic items such as fresh rockfish or lasagna rolls, pastas or barbecue pulled pork, and Dungeness crab cakes. Rich, creamy Hungarian mushroom soup is an option, too. There’s a small, select wine list to peruse, and local draft beers are also available. For dessert, kids will enjoy the banana split made with crushed Oreos. Servers are friendly, portions are generous, and the décor is arty.
