Miss Myra’s Pit Bar-B-Q Restaurant Review: Miss Myra's epitomizes the bare-bones kind of places that often purvey good barbecue. Fluorescent lighting and school cafeteria-style tables set in rigid rows remind you that you've come for the food, and not for the décor. Many come for smoked, juicy chicken with a white sauce that rivals the famous Decatur original. The mahogany-brown-burnished chicken is the perfect vehicle for the tangy, creamy white sauce served alongside the ubiquitous red edition. Smoked sausage and beef plates and sandwiches round out the meat-lover’s menu. Or enjoy your favorite meat atop a loaded potato or chef’s salad. Must-order sides include deviled eggs, potato salad and green beans that are offered in addition to the usual baked beans and slaw. It’s a dessert lover’s heaven for those who favor traditional Southern sweets. Banana pudding, chocolate cream pie and lemon ice box pie are the bestsellers, but other classics also are available. If a slice is not enough, order a whole pie, or a pan of pudding with a day’s notice. No alcohol.
