There’s something decidedly different---even a bit urbane---about this Irish eatery, and we're sure it has something to do with the former funeral home setting. Still, soothing hues; oodles of interesting, Celtic-inspired stained glass; and a fab, if odd, layout only add to the charm. Sure, the menu plays host to items like shepherd’s pie and beef and Guinness stew, but the real crux is contemporary Irish cuisine. On a chilly winter’s night, we guarantee an instant warm-up courtesy of root vegetable pancakes. Venison osso buco with pan-seared Brussels sprouts is as alluring as grilled lamb with fig confit and bacon or caramelized onion-stuffed, oat-crusted rainbow trout. Nevertheless, it’s hard to pass by alternatives like corned duck salad and potato-mushroom lasagna with goat cheese cream. When available, rich hazelnut-infused chocolate cake in a pool of cinnamon-scented orange marmalade is a decadent, welcome finale.
