Welcome to Pasadena’s only major Greek taverna. A distinctly Mediterranean flavor permeates a room filled with colorful murals, classic statuettes, tables cloaked in blue and white, and exuberant, plate-smashing waiters shouting Opah! All the traditional Greek favorites are found here: spanakopita, dolmades, souvlaki, moussaka, pasticcio, taramasalata and baklava. In addition to retsina, Nikos offers Greek wines whose mellow, fruity characteristics may surprise you.
