Oak Tree Inn Restaurant Review

: Located in South Pasadena, but with the spirit of Alhambra, the predominantly Chinese suburb a few blocks to the south, is this Chinese restaurant with an extensive menu of both familiar and exotic dishes. The room is filled with white linen-topped tables, and colorful floral photography lines the walls. Starters include deep-fried stuffed crab claws, spring rolls and pot stickers. Honey-glazed walnut shrimp are rich, but not overly sauced. Pricey, exotic items like shark’s fin soup and Peking duck are available, as well as lobster direct from the tanks in the dining room. Other highlights include spicy salted pork (miniature bone-in chops that have been pounded and deep-fried) and satisfying renditions of ubiquitous favorites like General Tso’s chicken and kung pao shrimp or squid.
